Product History: These beautiful vintage quilt tops were begging to be turned into finished quilts, so that’s just what we did. We’ve worked closely with Jeanne Staples, the founder of the nonprofit PeaceQuilts to create these special edition pieces for our holiday collection. PeaceQuilts was created as an economic development project that would serve as a a way for Haitian women to earn income, helping to provide not only well paying jobs but to establish women’s sewing businesses, gaining independence, providing for their families and creating community. We hope you join us in supporting them!

Construction Details: These rescued unfinished vintage quilt tops have been hand stitched by the women of PeaceQuilts in Haiti to make beautifully finished quilts with the charm of vintage but in excellent like new condition. Be sure to check all product photos for any wearing or staining that sometimes comes from vintage textiles.

Materials: The top of the quilt is made from a vintage quilt top from early to mid 1900s. The batting and quilt back is brand new cotton.

The back of the quilt is a solid natural ivory cotton.

Weight: It is medium weight with cotton batting.

Size: Approximate dimensions: 67” x 78”

Since each of these quilts is one of kind, dimensions may vary slightly.

Care: We recommend hand washing garment and laying flat to dry.

Fashion Reimagined

At Farewell Frances we are taking a different approach to fashion. This industry is the second largest source of pollution in the world. We are taking slow fashion to the next level, by taking the time to mend and repair existing beautiful vintage and antique textiles. Giving these textiles a second life cuts carbon emissions and water pollution significantly.
