These badges are made from vintage Cigarette Silks. Cigarette Silks were included in expensive cigarette packs in the early 1900s. Kind of like stamps, different images were printed on small pieces of Satin Fabric and included in the pack. These were meant to appeal to women and were sometimes used for quilts. I have used Fray Check to keep the silks from fraying and textile glue to secure them to a 2” pin. The silks are roughly 2” x 3”. I have finished the top with a vintage wire trim.
