Meet Sunny, a size M Chore Coat made from a beautiful vintage quilt.
Most of the fabrics used by the makers are feed sacks; the backing is also feed sack, printed Pillbury's Wheat Gray Shorts.
Pillbury was a Minneapolis, Minnesota feed company founded in 1869, later purchased by General Mills in 2001. The feed sacks used here for the backing are of course very old, probably 1940's or 50's.
There is some staining throughout, but otherwise in fantastic condition for her age. Make sure to look at all of the photos to see degree of staining and/or wear.
All coats are made from vintage quilts. While they have all been cleaned, there will be aging to coat with varying degrees of wear, staining, fraying, and mending. We think this adds to the uniqueness and story of the coat.
